in Syntactic Cartography
1º Simpósio de Pesquisa em Cartografia Sintática (SPeC)
The 1st Symposium on Research in Syntactic Cartography (SPeC) is organized by the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) in partnership with the Federal University of Brasília (UnB), the Federal University of South Border (UFFS) and the Federal University of Roraima (UFRR). SPeC will be held as an in-person event from October 4th to 7th, 2022 in the outbuildings of the Communication and Expression Center of UFSC.
Our invited speakers are: Prof. Dr. Giuliana Giusti (Ca' Foscari University of Venice), Prof. Dr. Ur Shlonsky (University of Geneva), Prof. Dr. Aquiles Tescari Neto (UNICAMP) and Prof. Dr. Sandra Quarezemin (UFSC).
The event will feature: mini-courses, conferences and lectures, oral communication sessions and poster sessions. Researchers with a doctorate, graduate students and undergraduate students are welcome to submit an abstract to communication or poster sessions. Undergraduate researchers need to meet the following criteria: to be part of a scientific initiation research project and co-author the work with a professor or graduate student.
The language of the event is English. Participants may present in Portuguese or Spanish, as long as the slides, handouts or posters are all in English.
Registration will be open from August 1 through September 20.
We invite abstract submissions for 20-minute talks (plus 10 minutes for discussion) and/or posters (posters should measure approximately 90 cm x 120 cm or 35.5 in x 47.3 in) on any topic on syntactic cartography.
All abstracts should be anonymized and written in English, and no more than two pages in length (including examples and references). They should use an A4 format with margins of at least 2 cm (0.79 in) and font size 12 pt (Times New Roman).
Submissions are limited to one individual and one joint abstract per author, or two joint abstracts per author.
When you submit your abstract please indicate in the title whether you would like it to be considered: (i) for a talk only; (ii) for a talk or a poster. For example: TITLE (POSTER/TALK), TITLE (POSTER) or TITLE (TALK).
Papers presented on SPeC will be published on Delta (September 2023).
Full papers should be submitted from September 1st through November 30 2022.
